Zeus watched Athena aid Odysseus and his son to victory over the suitors. He was in disgust watching the suitors try to marry Penelope. He didn’t like the fact that they were in his house taking his stuff because they thought he was dead. They didn’t know that Zeus was actually still alive but had a hard time making it back to Ithaca. Odysseus got back and found Zeus’ daughter Athena. Athena was his best daughter and she was the god of battle strategy. She changed Odysseus to look like an old beggar so he could go in and distract the suitors while his son went and took the weapons. Zeus and Athena were going to help during the battle. Odysseus got in the town with Athena’s help and distracted them. When his son got back with the weapons they started the fight. Odysseus shot arrows and killed many of the suitors while Athena and his son were protecting him. Athena is the god of battle so Zeus had no fear of her getting hurt or anyone else getting hurt. When the suitors were all killed Odysseus went to his wife and told him he was ok. She didn’t believe it was him and put him on a test. Athena returned to Zeus and all was good.
